Noun.  (enzyme) A flavoprotein that reduces nitric oxide (''NO'') to nitrous oxide (''N2O'') under anaerobic conditions. It is an oxygen sensitive nitric oxide reductase that contributes to resistance to nitrosative killing by macrophages.
