Pinnipedia

Proper noun. A taxonomic group consisting of three families - Odobenidae (walruses), Otariidae (fur seals and sea lions) and Phocidae (seals). It was formerly classified as its own suborder within order Carnivora, but is now considered a superfamily within Caniformia ("dog-like"), which is a suborder of Carnivora.
